You probably already have thousands of photographs of the people you love. They’re on your phone, in text messages and scattered throughout your camera roll. They’re important because they document your life as it happens.
But a photo session gives you something different. It gives you time to slow down and be with the people you love without worrying about who is going to take the picture. You get to be in the frame, but more importantly, you get to be present for the people in it.
We might walk, talk, play with the kids, get dressed up or simply spend time together at home. The photographs are important, but so is the time it takes to make them.
Years from now, I want you to remember more than what you looked like. I want you to remember what it felt like to have this time together.
That is The Experience.
THE APPROACH
YOU DON’T HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO BE IN FRONT OF A CAMERA
Every session begins with getting comfortable. I’ll learn what matters to you, who you’re bringing into the session and what you want these photographs to say about this season of your life.
From there, I’ll give you direction when it’s helpful. I might ask you to walk together, sit somewhere you naturally would, interact with your kids, or simply spend some time together while I photograph what happens.
When there’s a moment worth staying in, I’ll let it unfold. When you need a little direction, I’ll give it to you. I’m paying attention to the light, your surroundings, the way you interact with each other and all the little details that might otherwise be forgotten.
